Pedestals for the Aqara Wireless Mini Switch

Pick a size. Colors come next.

Every pedestal on this page is cut for the Aqara Wireless Mini Switch, the small square Zigbee button. The Aqara Mini Switch T1 sits in the same cradle.

It is the smallest thing in this catalog, which is most of its appeal and all of its problem: light enough to slide when you press it and small enough to lose in a drawer you did not mean to put it in. A pedestal gives it weight and a fixed place, at an angle you can press with one finger rather than holding the switch still with the other.

The switch drops into a cradle shaped around it. No magnet and no clip: the shape alone holds it, and it lifts straight back out for a battery change. The seat sets the angle, which is what makes a one-finger press work on a switch this light.

The sizes grow in one direction at a time. The single is 62.7 mm (2.5 in) across and each further slot adds 52.7 mm, so the double is 115.4 mm (4.5 in) and the triple 168.1 mm (6.6 in). All three are 89 mm (3.5 in) deep and 32.4 mm (1.3 in) tall, so a row grows sideways along a shelf and never further into the room. The 2+2 quadruple turns that around: 115.4 mm across, no wider than the double, and 168.1 mm front to back, its two rows level rather than tiered. Pick it when the surface has depth but not much width. Choose by how many switches will live in one spot, not by how many you own: two in two rooms are two singles.

Color does more work here than on any other family: the switch is small, so the pedestal is most of what anyone sees. There are more than 20 colors. Each filament is either matte or glossy, so the finish comes with the color: White, Cool Gray, Chocolate, Seafoam and Pistachio are flat under a lamp, Jet Black and the reds and blues catch the light. Speckled Black is a graphite base with shiny white specks in it, and Cookies & Cream a cool-white base with black specks. Glow-in-the-Dark is a pale gray in daylight and glows green once the lights are off, the one color the preview cannot show - its swatch says so.

We also build combination pedestals that hold two kinds of remote on one base, so a Mini Switch and a Pico can share one. If you do not see the size, mix or color you want, drop me a line on your favorite of the social links below - most of what the shop makes started as a request.
