A Pico weighs almost nothing. On a table it slides when you press it, turns up behind the lamp, or disappears under whatever gets set down next to it.
Every Pico drops into a friction-fit cradle at an angle you can read and press without picking it up. No magnets and no clips in any size - the fit alone holds it - and the bottom is open, so you push the remote straight out for a battery change.
The straight sizes stand in one row 89 mm (3.5 in) deep: a single is 50 mm (2.0 in) wide and each further slot adds 40 mm, up to 210 mm (8.3 in) for the straight quintuple. Above three remotes the same count comes in two shapes at one price. The straight quadruple and the 2+2 both hold four, but the 2+2 is no wider than the double and puts its second row behind the first, so a lamp keeps the front of the nightstand; the quintuple and the 2+3 are that trade one size up. Two pairs share a footprint exactly - the 2+3 and the 3+3, the 3+4 and the 4+4 - so the extra slot costs no extra table. The 3+3+3 nonuple is the largest, 130 x 247.1 mm (5.1 x 9.7 in). Rows are level rather than tiered, and every size stands 41.5 mm (1.6 in) tall.
There are more than 20 colors. Each filament is either matte or glossy, so the finish comes with the color: White, Cool Gray, Chocolate, Seafoam and Pistachio are flat under a lamp, Jet Black and the reds and blues catch the light. Speckled Black is a graphite base with shiny white specks in it, and Cookies & Cream a cool-white base with black specks. Glow-in-the-Dark is a pale gray in daylight and glows green once the lights are off, the one color the preview cannot show - its swatch says so.
Distinctive Makes also builds combination pedestals that hold two kinds of remote on one base, so a Pico and a Hue dimmer can share one. If you do not see the size, mix or color you want, drop me a line on your favorite of the social links below - most of what the shop makes started as a request.
